Undone Theatre Projects

 

Undone Theatre Projects is a partnership organisation formed by six diverse experienced individuals from an artistic director, dance choreographer, cultural administrators and managers, thespians, journalist and designers with the desire of building audiences and cultural appreciations for the art sector through promoting authentic local and African creative work that carries strong and meaningful content.

We aim at providing art and theatre lovers with local, inspiring, exciting, daring, authentic, non conventional, and  enriching artistic experience. We intend to restore theatre's lost glory  and reclaim ownership in terms of  content, quality, diversity and genres of African Culture!

Gilbert Lukalia  – Performer and artistic Director of theatrical productions.

Seasoned actor, who has been in the field for the past 14years, featured in numerous productions around Kenya’s art spaces. He has a wide experience in creating and directing productions. Currently a cast member in Lwanda - the Musical; written & directed by Eric Wainaina and Directed Edufa Undones debut Play. Gilbert has featured in performances around East Africa including the new TV soap SIRI as a main actor.

Krysteen Savane  – Thespian and Theatrical Administrator.

Talented actress with great exposure from stage and screen productions she has taken part in around East Africa. At the moment she is Coordinator-Kenya for Annons Africa; children’s arts project working with S.A.F.E (Sponsored Arts for Education) She is also in the Management team of S.A.F.E

Kebaya Moturi – Contemporary dancer and Choreographer.

Professional dancer and choreographer enjoying international dance experience. He continues to present Kenya in exchange programs that bring forth innovative contemporary dance performances within the region and the entire globe. He has partnered with international dance organizations to showcase contemporary dances at several spaces around the continent and the globe with dance Ukenia.

Dave Ojay – Trained Journalist and Manager in arts and culture

All round artiste with media knowledge and a designer turned administrator and manager in media, arts and culture. He is one of the 21 East Africans trained through the Aga Khan Foundation’s Young Development Professionals program 2007/8. Ojay was part of Kigezi Ndoto musical that toured Europe in 2006. He worked with Eric Wainainas Rainmaker, The GoDown arts centre, Sarakasi Trusr and Africa Unsigned- a pan African music project.

Jacque Nyaminde – Musician, screen and stage actress.

She is a multifunctional actress and has been involved in various stage productions, and music concerts internationally, she performs together with local Afro modern musicians Olith ratego, Iddi Achieng and Makadem. At the moment she appears on a TV series on citizen Television. Featured in Kigezi Ndoto Musical written by Mumbi Kaigwa and music by Eric Wainaina, the show toured Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands in 2006. Her talent has seen her work get a role in TV comedy Papa Shirandula as a main actress. 

Sam Kihiu – Actor, Arts Trainer and Creative Director

Knowledgeable facilitator in arts workshops and seasoned actor for both stage and screen come director with over 9 years of experience, currently appearing on Cobra squad a local detective series on NTV. He is also involved in artistic projects to sensitize the local people on matters affecting them.
